The Personal Assistive Listening System, model AT-216, is an FM amplification system designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing. The system includes a Comtek personal receiver and a neck loop, which are worn by the listener, and a Comtek transmitter. The personal receiver picks up the voice of the person wearing the transmitter, and the neck-loop then re-transmits it to the user's hearing aid (not included) with a "T" switch (telecoil pick-up). If hearing aids are not used, the receiver may also be used with headphones in place of the neck-loop. The operating range is about 200 feet. The system can transmit audio from a tape or CD player, TV, VCR, or compatible telephones and conference table microphones, and the system's microphone may be used to mix voice with auxiliary audio input. The system includes a snap-on clip for attaching the transmitter or receiver to a pocket or belt. Channel adjustment switches are covered by the snap-on clip to prevent accidental channel changes. The complete system includes one Comtek M-216 wireless microphone transmitter, one Comtek SM-183 omnidirectional lapel microphone, one Comtek PR-216 personal receiver, one Comtek NTC-102 neck-loop transductor, an earphone, an auxiliary audio input cable, and a carrying case. An Operator's Manual may be downloaded from the manufacturer's web site. POWER: Uses 9 volt alkaline batteries or rechargeable Ni-MH batteries (included). A battery charger is also included. OPTIONS: Mute Switch to mute the speaker's voice from the transmitter while allowing auxiliary input to continue; Enviro-Mic environmental microphone to enhance receiver's ability to discriminate the speaker's voice from environmental sounds; Smart-Mic to prioritize the teacher's (or speaker's) voice over environmental sounds, then activate the environmental microphone when the teacher (speaker) is not speaking to allow student (audience) comments and questions to be heard; Micro-Mini Jack Input for the Enviro-Mic, Smart-Mic, and other accessories such as hand-held directional microphones, clip-on speech training microphones, and telephone adapters; Conference Table Microphone Adapter for converting the system's lapel microphone into a table top or "boundary-type" microphone; Handheld Microphone Boom, a unidirectional microphone that can be pointed to a sound source. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): Transmitter and receiver, 1 1/16 x 2.25 x 3.75 inches. WEIGHT: 4 ounces. WARRANTY: One year.
