CUSTOM ADAPTATION PURPOSE: To enable caregivers to assist individuals in and out of bed without bending. A boxed frame of plywood and chipboard was nade to elevate a wood-frame bed. The lengthwise edges were recessed toward the center of the bed enabling the caregiver to to get as close to the bed as possible. Detachable sidepieces slot into the bed frame to prevent the individual from falling out of bed. The sidepieces fit at the end of the bed when not in use.
