CUSTOM ADAPTATION
PURPOSE: To enable an individual with a mobility disability to visit the beach. A simple frame was welded of 19 millimeter stainless steel tubing with a 1.6 millimeter wall thickness. A bar at the front acts as a footrest. The chair is also equipped with a lever brake. The seat and back are made of Breezeway open webbing and are laced to the frame. Extended handles provide additional leverage for the person pushing the chair, compensating for the four fixed wheels of the type used on a child's riding toy.
