The MOTOmed Gracile is an exercise machine and continuous passive motion device designed for use by children with lower extremity or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury (SCI). This unit is similar to a stationary bike in that it features two pedals to which the user’s feet are attached. The MOTOmed gracile provides a workout for the leg muscles in three modes: passive training with a motor; active training assisted by a motor; and active training with no assistance and adjustable resistance levels. The user is seated in a wheelchair, and his/her feet are placed on pedals with foot shells. The unit has an electronic control unit with a large type display that can be removed to operate the unit remotely, and it features a Movement Protector and Spasm Control system that can detect spasms and slow or stop the motion of the pedals to control the spasm. It also has curved handlebars with a washable foam sheath. DIMENSIONS: The distance between the inner edges of the pedals is 4.8 inches. The height of the pedals adjusts from 10.4 to 18.4 inches from the ground. The radius of the pedals can be adjusted from 1.4 to 2.8 inches. COLOR: Blue pedal unit with white frame; other colors optional.
