The Res-Q-Vac Hand-Powered Portable Suction System is a portable aspirator and oral hygiene aid designed for use by individuals with swallowing disabilities, respiratory disabilities, or stroke. This hand-powered portable suction system creates hospital-level suction without batteries or electricity, and can be used for oral suctioning or other situations where suction is needed. The system consists of a reusable suction pump handle and a variety of disposable suction canister and suction tube configurations: Model 2240 includes a soft large-bore catheter with beveled tip and a 300 cc (cubic centimter) cannister; model 2248 includes a rigid Yankauer-style suction tube and a 300 cc cannister; model 2222 has two 14 French catheters and a 300 cc cannister; and model 2213 is a Plak-Vac/Res-Q-Vac Combination Kit with a 50 cc cannister (see separate entry for Plak-Vac Suction Toothbrush). DIMENSIONS: The model 2240 catheter is 7.5 inches long with tip diameter of 0.5 inches; the model 2248 suction tube is 7 inches long and 5/16 inches in diameter; the model 2222 catheters are 3.5 and 14 inches long and 3/16 inches in diameter.
