The Original Afo Assist

The Original AFO Assist® is an innovative, one-of-a-kind lower body dressing aid designed to help stroke survivors and other individuals with disabilities (i.e., Multiple Sclerosis and Cerebral Palsy) independently don an ankle foot orthosis (AFO) and shoe.

Many stroke survivors have to wear an AFO to correct foot drop caused by their disability. However, they do not have the use of both hands to hold, pick up, position, or put on their AFO and shoe as a result of hemiplegia (loss of limb movement on one side of the body). The Original AFO Assist® was designed to address this issue. It holds the AFO and shoe in a stable position to facilitate one-handed donning; thus reducing caregiver intervention while increasing user independence. The Original AFO Assist® comes completely assembled and is ready to use right out of the box.
