Finger Extension Assist (Type 504)

The Finger Extension Assist, Type 504, is a finger flexion splint designed to correct boutonniere deformity and to treat proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint tightness. This orthosis is similar to the Finger Extension Assist Type 501 (see separate entry) but is shorter and stronger. Size is determined by measuring the volar surface distance from metacarpal phalangeal (MP) crease to distal finger crease, and should be done by a therapist. SIZES: X-Small (##5700, AA), Small (##5701, A), Medium (##5702, B), Large (##5703, C), and X-Large (##5704, D). DIMENSIONS: From Small to X- Large, lengths range from 1.75 to 3 inches, in 1/4-inch increments.
